Peg Loom Weaving
Colour, texture, feel
Cumbria never fails to inspire creative thought. Let's face it, it's a beautiful place and it has inspired many souls over the years to attempt to capture its very essence. Painting and photography are the obvious methods, but there are other ways to tap into the heart of what we see and feel about the landscape we love.
We know to stand and stare and breathe it in, but close your eyes, tune into the wind, hear the voices of Flora and Fauna, the rustle of Autumn leaves and cries of spring birds courting. Feel the warm earth beneath your feet, or the thrilling chill of a lakeside dip. The more we relax, the greater becomes our sensitivity for the moment. For us, there are opportunities to explore different ways to lift meaning from that island of calm.
The more we work with wool, the more we find its quality and flexibility provides us with a medium of expression, a palette both soft, subdued, vibrant, and warm. These qualities are reflected in our hand woven rugs and wall panels as we capture a sense of the landscape, a feel of the fells.

A 'sound' product
Wool has many desirable properties including warm natural feel, good fire retardancy and insulation. It is also excellent at sound absorption.
Contemporary interior spaces can typically feature hard surfaces, with resulting high reverberation of sound within the space that can feel cold. Soft furnishings help to damp down reverb, along with rugs on floors. Walls however, represent an opportunity for further damping. Our hand woven wall panels not only help break up standing waves, but look lovely too.
In a professional environment, having sound deadening wall panels can greatly help the overall sound levels, helping create a calmer environment in which to work. This quality is even more important in a sound recording studio where reverb needs to be controlled for consistent recording. Our panels combine both beauty and practicality.
Should you require multiple panels in a room, we are happy to work out an economical package price directly with you. Just send us a note to chat through our contact page and we'll be right back to you.
Individual rugs and wall panels that are currently available can be located in the Gallery under 'Weaving'.
